The Story

It’s Monday you say? Well, that’s gotta mean there’s another Quarantine Composition waiting for you on your favorite social media platform. And you’d be right! This week’s installment? YOUR ONLY GOAL IS TO ARRIVE.

A special shout out to my dear friend Randy Gardner for posting the article by the same name ( that inspired this week’s QC. The writer relayed a story about he and his wife flying across the country with their new born. The baby was fussy the whole way, and a kind flight attendant told them not to worry and reminded them that their only job right was to take care of each other and arrive at their destination.

The author then wisely reminds all of us that “Today’s flight, dear friends, is very much delayed: not by hours, but months. Travel conditions are—to put it mildly—suboptimal. Each of us should have in mind only one goal: to arrive on the other side in one piece.”

So, should we all use the coronavirus quarantine to achieve something “extraordinary” with our lives? Maybe.

But maybe we just hang on, take care of each other and arrive on the other side in one piece.

Wear a mask. Wash your hands. See you on the other side (or next Monday, whichever comes first).
