Kevin Saunders Hayes – All Instruments
13 tracks (one less than weeks of quarantine – I didn’t get the inspiration until week 2), and like Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, enough tracks to complete an album. QUARANTINE COMPOSITIONS has been completed (coming to a Spotify near you), and this week, in celebration of NYC’s much deserved ease into reopening, the amazing and much needed focus on the Radical Justice, and #BLM and the celebration of PRIDE month, we begin our new album, Phase One* with a little ditty called, BUG CONUNDRUM.
What’s the BUG CONUNDRUM? It’s a summertime problem.
Do you leave the doors and windows open in order to sleep with that lovely summer night air, only to be strafed all night by bugs of every shape and size, or do you give in and turn on the AC and suffer the incessant whine of that electric motor that never lets you completely fall asleep. Or… do you turn off the AC, keep the windows closed and see if you can make it through ’til morning without being roasted in your own juices.
Now, I understand this is definitely a quality problem, and one I am very lucky to have, but it does presents a 3D chess scenario that would give Spock a Vulcan headache.
I can barely play 2D chess, but I can write music. So, enjoy the first track from Phase One – BUG CONUNDRUM.
* My wife tells me we’re already in PHASE TWO, but I have to do things in order, even if this is only turns into an EP.
